Project Blackout V2 2015-2017

Brennan Lancaster

Project Blackout V2 was my first REAL gaming PC. It was a progressive build from when I was 15 till 17. It has grown as I have gotten better as a modder and enthusiast.

Blackout V2.2 (May 2017 Finished Project)
A lot of upgrades went into this build between V2.1 and V2.2. My 3 favorites would first be the hardline cooling swap sponsored by Primochill with there Revolver SX Compression Hardline fittings, PETG tubing and RFB Hardline tubing bit. Second I redid every cable with a full OEM upgrade, I used Ultimate Personal Computers wire and sleeving to make my own wires exactly to size to fit in the PC with no slack or hidden wires. For the cable combs Hydra supplied their acrylic bolt on cable combs for the build which matched my 3rd favorite. My 3rd favorite would have to obviously be the custom acrylic panel covering the drive bay. Its bolted into the front of the case with a L bracket custom made from acrylic and is 3 layers thick not including the mounting bracket. Every piece was cut by hand on a band saw after a wooden draft was made. All 3 layers where then bolted together with black nylon plastic nuts and bolts. Then getting into hardware we swapped the 4690k for a new 6600k Skylake CPU and a MSI Krait Z170 Motherboard with 24GB of DDR4 from PNY and HyperX

Specs:
Intel i5 6600k (Skylake)
Msi Z170 Krait Gaming Atx
EVGA Gtx 970
2x8gb PNY Anarchy DDR4
2x4gb HyperX Savage DDR4
Corsair RM750i
Corsair 750D
Blackout V2.1 (September 2015)
Version 2.1 was where I think I first got interested in modding and sleeving cables. It was also my first custom waterloop and when I got my higher end gaming GPU.
Specs:
Intel i5 4690k (Devil's Canyon)
MSI Z97 Classic U3 Plus Atx
EVGA Gtx 970
2x8gb Mushin DDR3
2x4gb HyperX DDR3
Corsair CX750M
Corsair 750D
Blackout V2.0 (June 2015)
Version 2.0 was when I got my first job and had a very low budget but still wanted to have the best pc gaming experience. The GPU was borrowed from my best friend Stryker and the CPU had the stock cooler so this build was still far from high end gaming.
Specs:
Intel i5 4690k (Devil's Canyon)
MSI Z97 Classic U3 Plus Atx
EVGA Gtx 285
2x8gb Mushin DDR3
1x4gb Corsair Vengeance
Corsair CX600M
Corsair 750D
